Previously, Mr. Berns was the Chief Financial Officer for GTT Communications, Inc., a global cloud networking provider for multinational clients from April 2020 until January 2021. Prior to that, Mr. Berns was the Co-Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Shutterstock, Inc. from September 2015 until June 2019.

Chris Bruner is Chief Product Officer at Tradeweb Markets, where he is focused on executing the firm’s vision for entering new markets, expanding Tradeweb’s ability to deliver cross-product capabilities across asset classes and client segments, and drive consistency in the firm’s approach to the product implementation process across businesses. He is also a member of the Executive Committee.

Trading activity on the Tradeweb European ETF marketplace reached EUR 41.4 billion in July, while the proportion of transactions processed via Tradeweb’s Automated Intelligent Execution (AiEX) tool was 81.5%.

August was a mixed month for 10-year government bond yields, with those for Sweden climbing nearly 21 basis points to finish at 2.71%. Their U.S. Treasury equivalents saw the month’s second highest move of 13 basis points, ending August at 4.09%. Speaking at the Jackson Hole Symposium, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell emphasized that the central bank was prepared to raise rates further if appropriate, and intended to hold policy at a restrictive level to bring inflation down to its 2% goal. The annual inflation rate increased to 3.2% in July 2023, up from 3% in the month prior.
