Tradeweb Voted Best Fixed Income Trading Platform of the Year
London, 29 September 2009 - Tradeweb, a leading provider of online markets, has won an "Award of Excellence in I.T. Trading & Technology - Europe 2009" from Financial News, a leading provider of news, analysis and comment on the investment banking, securities, and fund management industry. This is the fifth time that Tradeweb has received an annual Award of Excellence for electronic trading from Financial News.
The awards, which are determined by a distinguished panel of judges, recognize achievement by leading financial institutions and technology vendors across 18 different categories. The period that was judged (April 2008 to 2009) was one of significant innovation and expansion for Tradeweb, which continued to provide clients with access to outstanding liquidity in the face of unprecedented market instability. Key milestones included the launch of Yen Interest Rate Swaps and Japanese Government Bonds; the addition of new dealers for Euro Interest Rate Swaps, European Credit and CDS Indices, and the incorporation of Government-guaranteed Debt.
"The Tradeweb team is highly committed to offering the best possible products and services to our clients. We are proud to be voted Best Fixed Income Trading Platform 2009, particularly after a difficult year in the global financial markets," said Roger Barton, Managing Director and head of international business at Tradeweb.
"Smart use of technology is a major differentiator in the financial services industry. As markets continue to move towards an electronic model, the flexibility, performance, regulatory and compliance benefits of e-trading will become even more pronounced to customers," said Lee Olesky, CEO of Tradeweb.
